Job Summary
We are seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to join our Board of Directors at Night Owl Therapy. Night Owl Therapy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing mental health resources and community support for individuals in the nightlife industry. Our mission is to foster well-being, resilience, and advocacy for this unique and vibrant community.
As a Board Member, you will play a crucial role in guiding the organization towards achieving its mission and objectives. You will collaborate with fellow board members to provide strategic direction, oversee governance, and ensure the organization operates in alignment with its values and goals. This position requires strong leadership skills, a commitment to community service, and the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Ideal Candidate Skills
- Strategic Planning: Experience in nonprofit or business strategy, including setting goals, resource allocation, and long-term planning. Proven ability to align organizational activities with mission-driven objectives.
- Operational Management: Knowledge of creating and implementing efficient workflows, especially in service-oriented organizations. Familiarity with technology and tools to streamline administrative processes.
- Community Outreach and Marketing: Experience with building marketing campaigns, branding, or partnership development. Understanding of grassroots advocacy and working with niche communities is a plus.
- Board Development: Knowledge of nonprofit governance and best practices for board training and development. Experience in helping boards enhance their fundraising, legal, or organizational responsibilities.
Duties
- Provide strategic oversight and direction for the organization’s initiatives and programs.
- Engage in public speaking opportunities to represent the organization at various events.
- Collaborate with other board members in decision-making processes regarding organizational policies and procedures.
- Participate in fundraising efforts, enhance donor engagement.
- Supervise committees or task forces as needed, ensuring effective management of projects.
- Assist in recruiting new board members and volunteers through campus recruitment initiatives.
- Support training development programs to enhance the skills of staff and volunteers.
- Utilize social media management skills to promote organizational activities and engage with the community.
Requirements
- Proven leadership experience with a track record of supervising teams or projects.
- Strong public speaking abilities and comfort in representing the organization at various forums.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining focus on strategic goals.
- A commitment to the mission of the organization and a passion for community engagement.
