Job Summary
The Shift Leader plays a crucial role in overseeing daily operations and ensuring that production goals are met efficiently and safely. This position requires strong leadership skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to motivate team members. The Shift Leader will be responsible for coordinating tasks, managing resources, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety within the workplace.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead a team of employees during assigned shifts to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor production processes and workflows to meet productivity targets.
- Train new employees on operational procedures, safety protocols, and equipment usage.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and work areas to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues and perform basic maintenance as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, inventory levels, and employee performance.
- Foster a positive work environment by promoting teamwork and effective communication among team members.
- Implement company policies and procedures while adhering to industry regulations.
Skills
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools for maintenance and repair tasks.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, including high voltage applications.
- Familiarity with forklift operation for material handling tasks.
- Understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC) regulations.
- Experience with fixture installation on roofs or similar structures.
- Ability to read schematics and blueprints for effective troubleshooting and installation tasks.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey information to team members and management.
