Job Title: Heat Trace Technician
Location: DC Metro
Job Type: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 6am-2pm
Salary: $25/hr+
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Heat Trace Technician to join our team. The Heat Trace Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting heat tracing systems that are used to prevent freezing of pipes in a commercial construction environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems, heat tracing technology, and a commitment to ensuring the reliable operation of these systems. We are willing to train the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation:
- Install heat trace systems on pipes, tanks, and other components according to specifications and safety standards.
- Follow blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to complete installations.
- Ensure proper installation of heat trace systems to maximize efficiency and safety.
- Maintenance & Repair:
- Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on heat trace systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair heat trace systems, including electrical and mechanical components.
- Replace damaged or malfunctioning components as needed.
- Testing & Calibration:
- Conduct electrical tests to ensure proper operation and performance of heat trace systems.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate daily logs and document installations, maintenance, and repairs.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports on system status, performance, and any issues encountered.
- Safety:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing tasks.
- Identify potential hazards and take proactive measures to mitigate risks.
- Customer Service:
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members to provide updates on project status and resolve any issues.
- Offer technical support and guidance as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum of [1] years of experience commercial construction preferred.
- Skills:
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical schematics and blueprints.
- Strong knowledge of heat tracing systems, including electrical components.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs).
- Capability to work in various environmental conditions, including confined spaces and at heights.
