Tour of duty for this position is: Tuesday thru Saturday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Hours may change due to Operational Needs of Management.
This position is designated as "Emergency/Essential" and will be required to report to work during emergencies and inclement weather situations.
Work schedule may require some occasional mandatory overtime on holidays and weekends.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Air Conditioning System Installation and Maintenance:
Keeps up a variety of commercial and industrial systems to locate and check elements such as those which control low side and high side pressure, the temperature of the cooling units, the temperatures of the liquid and suction lines and the running time of the various mechanisms.
Examines for the probability of leaks by visual and audible examination of equipment components, by utilizing prescribed test procedures and equipment and by the exploration of probable reasons for equipment failure.
Takes apart, fixes and reassembles units.
Maintains specialized or complex electronic controls and equipment using manufacturer's equipment guides and specifications, industry criteria and established techniques for guidance.
Checks systems for suitable running cycles, refrigerant and oil leakages, motor and compressor temperatures, belt adjustment and replacement, set points, cleanliness, operations and superheat rotation and heating protection, noting any faulty or damaged parts.
Restores and repairs equipment elements that control cooling unit temperatures and the running time of various mechanisms.
Installs and/or repairs a variety of complicated motor controls designed to protect against overload or overheating in air conditioning systems and equipment.
Air Conditioning System Troubleshooting:
Examines complex air conditioning systems to troubleshoot, locate and repair faulty equipment such as compressors, reciprocating, centrifugal, or rotary pump and a variety of refrigerant controls.
Locates and diagnoses problems in control systems as a result of trouble calls or inspections.
Utilizes a variety of complicated motor controls such as hermetically sealed motors and pressure controls, thermostatic motor controls (remote and double remote), full and semi-automatic defrosting controls, relays and other controls to protect against overload or overheating.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
