Job Summary:
The HVAC Service Manager will oversee a team of up to 20 HVAC service technicians responsible for repairing and maintaining HVAC systems in small commercial and residential settings. This role requires exceptional technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for mentoring and training team members to ensure top-notch service delivery and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
- Manage, mentor, and train a team of service technicians and field supervisors to enhance technical skills and professional development.
- Assign tasks, set priorities, and ensure efficient team operations.
- Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews to promote growth and accountability.
Technical Expertise:
- Provide hands-on guidance and support for diagnosing and repairing HVAC systems, including troubleshooting complex issues.
- Act as the go-to resource for technical challenges and best practices in the field.
- Stay current with advancements in HVAC technology and implement improvements in service processes.
Operational Oversight:
- Ensure all service work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Monitor job progress, ensuring timely and efficient project completion.
- Coordinate schedules, tools, and resources to optimize workflow and minimize downtime.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, regulations, and company policies.
- Promote adherence to safety protocols and training.
Customer Relations:
- Address escalated customer concerns and ensure client satisfaction.
- Collaborate with clients to identify needs and provide customized solutions.
Administrative Duties:
- Track and report on team performance, project progress, and service metrics.
- Manage budgets, inventory, and vendor relationships.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in HVAC service, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Technical Expertise:
- Deep knowledge of HVAC systems, including installation, repair, and maintenance.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues.
Skills:
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication abilities.
- Capability to mentor and train less experienced technicians effectively.
- Familiarity with service management software and tools is an advantage.
