Position Overview: The Restaurant Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and installation operations for multi-unit restaurants. This position plays a key role in ensuring all restaurant locations remain in excellent working condition, focusing on HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical systems, and carpentry. The Facilities Manager will also ensure compliance with all safety and health regulations, manage preventive maintenance programs, and lead efforts to resolve building-related issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a liaison with city, county, and state authorities regarding fire and occupational safety requirements.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and cosmetic repairs on restaurant equipment and property.
- Ensure all applicable safety procedures and standards are maintained for building maintenance.
- Analyze and address space-related challenges, including building design, accessibility, and safety concerns, and propose effective solutions.
- Conduct regular property inspections and contractor meetings to monitor work progress and ensure high-quality standards.
- Manage and prioritize work orders, ensuring all necessary repairs and maintenance are completed promptly.
- Collaborate with maintenance technicians to troubleshoot and resolve issues at various locations.
- Oversee and coordinate outside contractor work, ensuring proper communication and execution.
- Assist in preparing recommendations for capital budget expenditures related to building repairs, equipment replacement, and property upgrades.
- Maintain service and warranty records to avoid unnecessary repair costs and warranty violations.
- Conduct restaurant audits, identifying areas for repairs, training management teams on minor repairs, and improving safety.
- Manage cyclical services such as hood cleaning, grease trap pumping, fire suppression, and other essential services.
- Provide hands-on maintenance support for kitchen equipment, plumbing, refrigeration, and electrical systems at all restaurant locations.
- Perform general facility maintenance, including painting, patching, carpentry, flooring, and locksmithing.
- Maintain, operate, and troubleshoot HVAC and refrigeration systems to ensure effective temperature control.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
- Previous multi-unit building management experience, ideally in the food service industry.
- Strong knowledge of refrigeration, HVAC, and related building systems.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and schematics.
- Extensive knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems and the ability to troubleshoot issues.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and efficiency.
- Strong leadership and team collaboration abilities, thriving in a fast-paced work environment.
- Flexibility to travel to various locations as needed for inspections and contractor meetings.
