Lorditch Talent Group is seeking an Estimator/Project Manager for a renewable energy, utility contractor in the Philadelphia area.
Estimator/Project manager is an associate position for their Substation, Electrical Construction and EPC business. This role handles contract aspects during both the tendering and project execution phases for assigned projects. The Estimator/Project Manager is to provide analysis of customer specifications, requests for quotations, contract documents, invoicing, and all related commercial, legal and technical documents for business conducted. This position may require limited overnight travel.
Responsibilities:
- Provide estimates for jobs and projects: assist other team members to estimate projects.
- Review and analyze customer specifications and bid documents in order to identify potential commercial/legal risks;
- Develop scope of work packages for subcontractors.
- Assist with creating subcontracts
- Prepare invoicing for customers.
- Prepare and upload documents into customers database.
- Prepare clear and concise modifications to customer specifications and bid documents;
- Schedule and coordinate crew availability with General Foreman and Customer.
- Prepare estimates and various other legal documents for signature and assist with the drafting and preparation of proposals;
- Assist in the preparation and facilitation of internal risk review meetings;
- Assist the businesses in determining prime contract flow down terms and conditions for incorporation into supplier and subcontract agreements and ensure internal departments know HR/insurance requirements;
- Provide project management support during project execution;
- Assist General Foreman & Foreman with change order preparation and communication with the customer.
- Provide support with respect to claims preparation warranty administration, & incident reporting.
- Assist with administrative responsibilities, including the preparation and management of permits, estimates and change orders;
- Assist with Root Cause Incident Reporting
- Provide functional representation in addressing matters with customers;
- Provide and assist with As-Built documentation
- Travel to project meetings as needed.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- 5+ years of estimating experience; preferably in electrical utility construction
- 5+ years of contracts-related experience; preferably in utility construction
- Exceptional oral and written communications;
- Ability to identify and analyze basic and complex commercial and contractual risks;
- Proficient Negotiation Skills;
- Competent in MS 2010 Word, Excel, PowerPoint
