GPD is looking to continue to grow, and we are excited to hire a Mechanical Engineering Project Manager in our Northeast Ohio and Pittsburgh offices that embodies the entrepreneurial spirit GPD is founded on. This engineer will share a passion for mentoring and developing while leading project designs with our clients.
Job Qualifications:
- Mechanical Engineer with 15+ years of design experience in any of the following areas of practices including Healthcare, Educational (PK-12 and Higher Ed.), Federal, Public Building, Retail and Commercial.
- Experience in managing engineers and architects in design and documentation for project work.
- PE License preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience mentoring and empowering engineers newer in their career.
- Extensive experience with HVAC Design and Plumbing Design.
- Experience working with clients during project conception and programming.
- Proficient in Building load calculations, sizing and selecting system.
- Steam and High temperature system design preferred, but not required.
- Understand of Mechanical Codes, Plumbing codes, and ASHRAE design standards.
- Enjoys taking on a leadership role not only as a technical expert in our field but as a servant leader in the community and within the company.
- Thrives in a collaborative project environment and enjoys all forms of communications while working with clients and team members (virtual, in-person, phone).
- Must possess excellent communication skills, professional writing skills and the ability to multi-task between several projects and priorities at one time.
- Candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
- Some travel required for building surveys, assessments, and construction administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management in our group provides the opportunity to interact with multiple stakeholders and in a wide variety of services that encompass our discipline: this includes complete A & E design, survey, facility assessments, construction administration, site walks, and field service.
- Technical design and oversight: opportunity to mentoring younger engineers, while analyzing designs and helping to lead project designs.
- Strategic Planning includes working with the team to develop and execute strategic actions aligned with both the Mechanical team and GPD Group goals: GPD is looking for a go-getter that is fearless in driving growth and opportunity for the company.
- Client Engagement and Management offers a chance for the Project Manager to develop and build programs and client relationships to grow this team: this includes understanding clients’ needs and how they translate into specific scope and reporting systems. This person will not only meet revenue goals but actively seek out opportunities to exceed expectations.
- Mentoring and developing the team to further our success in the industry: this includes not only mechanical engineering and technical training but empowering those teammates to find their passion and skills in our industry and translating that to continued career success.
- Administrative oversight: using Key Performance indicators, this includes developing, communicating, and tracking workflow tasks, scheduling, championing GPD’s quality assurance and client standards, and ensuring that project documents are consistent with project plans and within scope and budget.
