THE WORK: As a Transportation Manager, you will direct and lead all network operation functions required to maintain the quality of service within the Division. This includes but is not limited to:
Responsibilities:
· Manage client contract performance to service level and profit/loss expectations.
· Manage day to day client contract performance to service level expectations as it relates to daily pullouts, on time performance and KPI’s.
· Build strong relationships with clients; ensuring Big Star Transit brand standards and values are consistently represented.
· Direct and oversee a team of service professionals in the daily operations and safety of the organization.
· Direct and oversee vehicle fleet maintenance protocols, including scheduled and emergency maintenance.
· Assigns and/or reassigns service capacity upon demonstrated need or request by the client to fulfil a “run cut”.
· Coordinate with Network Development the develop network deployment strategies to maintain or exceed performance standards.
· Attend monthly client meetings to provide performance statistics and updates.
· Schedule and ensure proper program orientation of all regularly assigned operators, including extra-board or spare operators, and assignment of operators to vehicles.
· Distribute and collect daily operating reports, transfer trips, and fares.
· Oversee the project training and safety programs.
· Oversee administrative and support functions.
· Prepare monthly reports to DDOT from the daily operational data using MS Excel;
· Maintain project accounts.
· Prepare monthly invoice data that documents all charges for submission to Accounting of invoicing.
· Immediately resolve any operational problems, accidents issues, and/or passenger complaints, including accurately reporting these problems to DDOT and responding and resolving customer complaints in a timely manner (within 5 business days) as appropriate.
· Be an active voice in the growth of the organization.
· Other duties as assigned.
Education:
· Preferred:
o Two plus years of related transportation and/or fleet Supervision experience in the taxi/limousine, paratransit, NEMT, wheelchair transportation or logistic industries deploying independent operators
Language Skills: Proficient written and verbal communication
· Required:
o Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos
o Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other cross-functional groups
o Communicate effectively with internal Operations and Safety staff and external partners
Technical Experience: Specific industry or position skills
· Required:
o Intermediate to proficient in Microsoft Suite
o Proficient to expert in Microsoft Excel
· Preferred
o Transportation, public transit, non-emergency medical transportation and/or taxi knowledge and terminology
o Understanding of Paratransit and NEMT dispatch systems.
o Demonstrated knowledge of ADA paratransit and NEMT requirements, and paratransit and NEMT operational issues and procedures
