Job Summary
Oversight of Maintenance Engineers and department:
- Ensure standards are maintained in service, cleanliness, shelf stock, payroll and productivity
- Assist with associate issues involving coaching, mentoring, disciplinary actions and team building
- Work with department engineers on troubleshooting equipment issues and preventative maintenance by having working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing
- Coordinate contractor work for maintenance projects including electrical, HVAC and small renovation needs
- Conduct a daily walk-through (interior and exterior) to ensure standards are maintained in facility maintenance and appearance
- Assist department engineers and department as needed
- Be able to identify HVAC problems
Project Management & Stewardship:
- Assist the Director of Facilities with project development and management
- Coordinate contractor work, project schedules, orders and deliveries
- Assist with development and oversee implementation of corporate and property stewardship initiatives
OSHA, Safety and Legal compliance:
- Oversee compliance of OSHA standards related to (but not exclusively) Emergency preparedness, blood borne pathogens, hazard communication, fire extinguishes, lock-out tag-out, personal protective equipment
- Interface with DNC safety auditor, fire marshal, state health department inspector, pest control
- Coordinate inspections, permits and licenses for physical plant including elevators, fire suppression, fire alarms, back-flow preventers
- Must have strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize work to meet deadlines and make decisions
- Excellent guest service skills; ability to adhere to Company’s GuestPath Universal Service Standards
- Ability to read, speak and write English well
- Basic computer skills for use of spreadsheets, word processing and email
- Knowledge of hotel housekeeping and/or maintenance departments helpful
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and safety practices helpful
Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Illinois Gaming Board
- Three years or more of facilities/maintenance experience preferred.
- High school or equivalent is required
- Must be proficient in the entire Microsoft Suite
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be reliable
- Must be able to work flexible shifts, including weeknights, weekends, and holiday
- Minimum 5 years experience as a facilities or operations associate.
- Minimum of 3 years leadership experience.
- Must have ability to interface with multiple levels of management and influence others towards the accomplishment of common objectives.
- Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Physical Demands:
- Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit for prolonged periods of time
- Occasionally required to work at heights above 10 feet high
- Frequently required to lift items up to 30 pounds
- Occasionally required to push or move items up to 100 pounds
- Frequently required to reach overhead
- Occasionally required to work in confined, small areas for long periods of time
