Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with clients, vendors, utility providers and sub-contractors in the field to assure spec and code compliant MEP installation, energization and commissioning practices are implemented and followed.
- Develop and track project schedules
- Assure safe, cost effective and timely execution of project deliverables and mechanical / electrical operations.
- Ensure and maintain a safe working environment covering all project work.
- Inspect for contract compliance, workmanship and safety
- Site QA/QC documentation management.
- Responsible to maintain continuous accountability of project mechanical / electrical historic data to include but not limited to; project MEP work(s) completed, measured performance data/reports, installed asset components, etc.
- Project planning – leading coordination meetings, writing work scopes, getting quotes, and scheduling work.
- Assist in material / equipment procurement tracking, creating field sketches / ASIs, and MEP trade coordination.
- Assist with troubleshooting and evaluation of equipment for assigned project(s).
- Analyze site performance, identify problems and work with support teams to create and implement plans as needed to meet key performance indicators.
- Attend and contribute to daily, weekly and monthly coordination meetings with owners, engineers, contractors, and other essential project personnel.
- Ensure all facilities are maintained within all regulatory guidelines, as applicable.
- Estimate changes in scope of work.
- Interface with Data Center Site Operations and Sr. Project Management for any issue relevant to plant performance analysis to include the development, implementation and results measurement of any action plans.
- Train and mentor other team members.
- Provide technical input related to contract drawings and documents.
- Assure contractors meet all electrical deliverable requirements set-forth in applicable contracts and agreements.
- Assist the Sr. Construction / Project Manager to validate all contractor schedules, deliverables, applications for payments and contractor change requests.
- Maintain MEP project schedules and keep others informed of any potential changes to the startup & commissioning schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective work relationships with all trade partners
- Evaluate responses, award contracts and oversee activity through satisfactory completion.
- Maintain detailed records on MEP systems and components.
- Provide ongoing technical support, management and oversight of vendors as necessary.
- Continually develop local contractor network associations.
Qualifications:
- BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, MEP trade experience or other related field.
- 5 + years applicable work experience.
- Prior MEP QA/QC experience required, preferably on industrial, data center or other mission critical projects.
- Candidate must be technically proficient in planning and scheduling and exhibit excellent organizational skills.
- Candidate must possess strong communication skills, the ability to lead coordination meetings and actively facilitate progress in order to achieve scheduled goals.
- Candidate must have a disciplined approach to managing task assignments. People skills, good judgment, and flexibility are critical to this position.
- Knowledge of construction planning, mechanical or electrical systems necessary, building controls, fire systems, security systems; experience in these areas a plus.
- Prior experience managing MEP trades on industrial, data center or other mission critical projects preferred.
- Candidate will be able to work cooperatively with internal administration groups, and to deal directly with customers and contractors to reach mutually acceptable terms and conditions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office required.
- Ability to travel based on project / client needs.
- Ability to walk construction / project site regularly throughout the day.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
