Job Title: EHS Manager

Position Overview:
The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of all EHS programs and initiatives to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role focuses on fostering a safe workplace, maintaining environmental compliance, and managing related training programs. The EHS Manager will also provide support to multiple facilities and collaborate with various departments to promote a safety-first culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- EHS Compliance & Reporting:
o Ensure all operations are in full compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental laws, and company safety policies.
o Manage OSHA record-keeping, including maintaining and submitting OSHA 300/301 logs.
o Oversee annual compliance reporting, including FM Global, Year-End Compliance, and any site-specific regulatory requirements.
o Act as the primary contact for regulatory agencies and ensure timely reporting of any incidents or non-compliance issues.
o Support API plants with EHS guidance and ensure consistency in compliance standards across all locations.
- Incident Management & Worker’s Compensation:
o Manage workplace incident reporting, investigation, and corrective actions. Follow up on open cases, including Worker’s Compensation claims, ensuring proper documentation and resolution (e.g., the Press Operator case).
o Collaborate with HR and management to ensure a clear path forward for workplace injuries and WC claims.
- Training & Certification:
o Develop and coordinate monthly EHS training programs for employees, supervisors, and managers to ensure a thorough understanding of safety protocols and compliance.
o Oversee PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) training certification process, ensuring all employees are properly trained and certified.
o Manage annual hearing test processes and ensure compliance with safety standards.
o Lead the internal training department on EHS compliance and assist in creating regulatory-compliant content.
•* *Facility & Safety Management:
o Oversee facility-related safety projects, such as fire suppression systems for press and extrusion equipment, foam tank/ink room installations, and fire alarm systems.
o Manage FM Global projects, including the annual safety visit and ensuring all recommendations are implemented.
o Ensure that all fire safety protocols are in place and compliant with regulations.
- Environmental & Waste Management:
o Oversee waste disposal strategies to ensure they meet local, state, and federal regulations, including maintaining the TX STEERS portal for proper hazardous waste management.
o Collaborate with various departments to develop and maintain corporate environmental programs and initiatives.
o Manage environmental permits (Title V, Tier II, air permits) and ensure compliance with submission deadlines.
•* *Team & Vendor Management:
o Oversee and manage the janitorial staff, including timekeeping, payroll, and performance reviews.
o Collaborate with external vendors and contractors on EHS-related projects, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Health, Safety, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in EHS management, preferably in manufacturing or packaging industries.
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance (Title V, Tier II reporting), and waste management.
- Experience with incident reporting, worker’s compensation processes, and regulatory audits.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and leading EHS training programs.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple safety and compliance projects simultaneously.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and lead safety initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH) are a plus.
Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience, including health benefits, 401(k), and paid time off.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
