Purpose
Responsible for all aspects of maintenance, preventative maintenance, customer service, dispatch, safety, training, inventor and P&L for a service workload branch. Thoroughly documents all aspects of work performed on company owned and operated equipment and vehicles.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Forecasts workload based on job schedules and assign work to mechanics, technicians and shop support personnel accordingly through the development of accurate estimates.
- Assists with preventative maintenance and repairs in the shop as needed.
- Assumes primary P&L responsibility for branch service operations.
- Creates quotes for approval, open work orders, assigns appropriate mechanics to complete repairs, order parts from vendors and ensure readiness prior to crane leaving for job.
- Opens and maintains purchase order system.
- Confers with vendors as to availability of goods, prices, deliveries, discounts and changes in supplies, materials and equipment offered for sale.
- Implements current and improved systems and procedures in accordance with company policies for Safety, Operations, Sales and Administrative functions.
- Conducts weekly inventory counts and an annual audit in shops to maintain accuracy in ordering, receiving, usage and adjustments to inventory.
- Actively oversee training and safety practices of employees and correct as needed; actively support and encourage safety training and compliance with all safety procedure
- Maintains records and prepares reports for the department
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Requirements
Education:
- High School diploma or GED
- Certified Crane Inspector preferred
Experience:
- 7+ years' experience working with heavy equipment; cranes preferred
Skills/Knowledge:
- Advanced knowledge in Mobile Cranes and their transport equipment including designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Advanced computer skills and knowledge of CMMS systems
- Advanced ability to build strategic working relationships
- Expert problem-solving skills and attention to details
- Expert time management and communication skills
- Must be able to pass a drug test, background check, and fit for duty test.
Language Skills:
Must be able to read and comprehend complex instructions, short correspondence and memos and the ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
