This is a seasonal position that assists the club’s media relations, baseball information and marketing efforts. The position runs from February through the end of October. This position requires strong writing skills and baseball knowledge and requires work on nights, weekends and holidays. The main responsibility of this job on a daily basis is the creation of game notes, postgame recaps and other baseball information materials as necessary. Candidates must have a second-to-none work ethic and understand the time requirements of working in a baseball communications department. Candidates also should take initiative, as appropriate, without waiting for direction and be able to work both independently and as a team member. We are seeking a candidate with a positive attitude and a go-getter mentality that is looking to play a major role for a Triple-A Marketing Department. **Please note this is not a play-by-play/broadcasting/radio position.**
Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily prep of all necessary gameday materials including, but not limited to, stat packs, game notes, lineup sheets, rosters and postgame recaps
- Manage the Round Rock Express Press Box for all 2025 home games
- Follow both home and road games, providing in-game updates on the Express’ social media accounts
- Complete research and edit media almanac and supplemental bios as needed throughout the season
- Assist with management of pre-game media availability and interviews as needed
- Collaborate on creation and dissemination of press releases, media advisories, etc.
- Assist with the writing, design and development of the game program
- Target potential specialty media outlets and update media contact lists as needed
- Be available during other events hosted at Dell Diamond such as the Karbach Round Rock Classic and the UIL Texas High School Baseball Tournament
- Assist in game with any Round Rock Express needs that may arise, including, but not limited to, in-game media availability and client services assistance

Qualifications
- Previous experience in a Minor League/Major League Communications Department is preferred but not required
- A degree that focuses on Sports Management, Communication, Marketing, Advertising or related fields a plus
- Knowledge of Adobe professional suite preferred (specifically InDesign and Photoshop)
- Previous writing experience necessary
In this role you will be paid a weekly salary guarantee of $520.00 per week and will receive overtime for all hours worked over 40 in a week.
