Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated HVAC Service Manager to oversee daily operations, manage a growing team of technicians, and ensure the department meets both service and financial goals. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, a deep understanding of commercial HVAC systems, and a proven track record of driving business growth through customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive Business Development: Enhance customer relationships, ensure satisfaction, and leverage advertising to grow the service department.
- Financial Management: Work closely with the president to meet and exceed departmental financial goals, ensuring profitability and growth.
- Team Leadership: Guide, mentor, and develop a team of technicians. Conduct performance reviews, address disciplinary matters, and provide constructive feedback during difficult conversations.
- Operational Excellence: Create and maintain efficient field processes, ensuring that technicians are performing their duties to the highest standards.
- Organizational Management: Stay on top of invoicing, scheduling, and maintaining records. Ensure all work is completed on time and invoiced accurately.
- Sales Growth: Drive sales by promoting preventative maintenance services to clients, identifying opportunities to enhance service agreements.
- Process Improvement: Implement continuous improvements in service delivery, ensuring customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of field experience in commercial HVAC systems.
- Hands-on experience with boilers, chillers, RTU’s, AHU’s, and other commercial HVAC equipment.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team, with experience in having difficult conversations and guiding team development.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to stay on top of multiple tasks including invoicing, scheduling, and customer relations.
- Strong understanding of commercial HVAC repairs and installations.
- Experience driving business through preventive maintenance visits and service contracts.
- Ability to maintain and develop efficient processes across the team.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to drive customer satisfaction and team cohesion.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in sales and business development in the HVAC industry.
- Proficiency in using HVAC software and systems for scheduling, tracking, and invoicing.
- EPA certification and additional technical certifications in HVAC management are a plus.
