Hazmatpac, a subsidiary of Pipeline Packaging, is a leading hazardous materials packaging distributor in the United States and we are in need of a General Manager to join our team at our corporate office in Houston, TX.
The General Manager will be responsible for managing and driving results for the entire division including the development of new business development, sales and operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic / tactical plans for the pursuit and successful capture of key business opportunities.
- Create, communicate, and implement the organization’s vision, mission, and overall strategy.
- Responsible for division’s P&L ensuring profitability through established business plan, forecast achievement, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Reviews financial statements or other analyses of activities, costs, and operations, and forecasts data to determine division progress toward stated goals and objectives.
- Identify, cultivate and establish new business relationships.
- Direct and coordinate activities of business or departments concerned with production, pricing, sales or distribution of products.
- Establish and implement departmental staffing requirements, policies, goals, objectives, and procedures as needed.
- Direct and coordinate organizational financial budgets.
- Responsible for the selection and appointment of managers and department heads as well as overseeing and monitoring organization performance.
- Provides timely and regular status reporting to executive management.
- Establish and maintain a working relationship with corporate and subsidiary management and customers.
- Cultivate and maintain a positive culture by supporting the corporate guiding principles.
- Act as the head of the organization when communicating with customers, government entities, and the general public.
- Negotiate and approve agreements & contracts for the organization.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- Master’s degree in business administration or management preferred
- A minimum of ten (10) years management experience in distribution; Hazardous packaging experience preferred
- Strong business acumen, analytical thinking and numerical ability, and problem solving skills
- Excellent communications skills (both written and oral) with attention to detail
- Highly strategic but can quickly flex to tactical, also forward-thinking and collaborative
- Proven ability to successfully handle multiple projects and meet critical deadlines
- Must demonstrate enthusiasm, a sense of urgency, commitment and follow-through while maintaining confidentiality, meeting deadlines and maintaining positive working relationships
- Must be highly organized, self-motivated, and team-oriented
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to relationship-building, both internally and externally
- Strong PC skills, including MS Office software
