Service Manager - Residential HVAC Operation

Position Overview
We are searching for a highly skilled, proven general manager who can multi-task in all aspects of residential HVAC operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully growing and managing sales, marketing, finance, recruitment, and technical training initiatives within the HVAC industry. The successful candidate will also possess a mature and technical leadership skill set to develop goals and a path to achieving them. This individual must possess strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to think critically to solve complex problems and drive business growth.
Responsibilities
- Operations Management:
- Plan, Schedule, and Manage the day-to-day operations to ensure safe, efficient service delivered to the highest degree of customer satisfaction.
- Provide technical support to the field technicians.
- Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Develop a process for service calls after hours and weekends.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
- Instill best practices and the use technology for scheduling and routing.
- Financial Management:
- Develop an annual operating budget and be responsible for all financial aspects of the company, including forecasting and financial reporting, and use job costs and dispatch systems.
- Manage expenses and optimize financial performance to maximize profitability.
- Monitor cash flow and manage accounts receivable/payable to ensure timely collection and payment.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Recruiting and Training:
- Recruit, hire, and train a high-performing team of HVAC technicians, sales professionals, and support staff.
- Develop training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge in HVAC technology, customer service, and sales techniques.
- Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to employees to foster professional growth and development.
- Create a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, collaboration, and employee engagement.
- Sales and Marketing:
- Develop and implement strategic sales and marketing plans to achieve company sales targets and increase market share, including managing all social media posts.
- Identify new business opportunities and establish relationships with potential clients to expand the customer base.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to develop effective sales and marketing strategies.
- Monitor sales performance and implement corrective actions to meet revenue goals.
Qualifications
- Ten plus years of proven leadership and progression in the HVAC industry.
- Either have or can get a Texas Class A HVAC license within six months. Must have EPA certification.
- Proven experience in a senior management role within the HVAC industry, with a strong track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
- Excellent leadership abilities with the proven ability to lead, motivate, and inspire a team.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to think critically to solve complex problems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with employees, clients, and stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong organizational and computer skills with a high attention to detail.
