As the HVAC Install Manager, you will work as part of a dynamic and passionate team to maximize capacity, efficiency, and profitability. You will coach the team on how to exceed customer expectations and execute the highest quality installations on every job. This position will include reviewing installation jobs and preparing the installers so they can accomplish the highest quality installations, every time. By working closely with installation technicians, and various departments, you will ensure jobs are completed on time and within budget, helping achieve the company’s financial goals as well as ensuring a satisfied customer. The Installation Manager will have the right balance of humility and self-confidence to be able to juggle the many facets of this position, while also effectively managing change in a very fast-paced, complex, and dynamic business environment.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
This position is responsible for managing the Service Department and handling customer service interactions, reports, and repairs. In addition, providing the highest level of customer service, developing last customer relationships, and managing the service team. The service manager maintains a strong working knowledge of all industry standards and practices, as well as the company’s products and services. The essential functions of this role include:
- Delegating and directing service tasks, monitoring the progress of current projects, and managing service members to ensure the team’s objective and sales goals are met.
- Ensure equipment is ordered and ready for each job, adhering to the quality checklist.
- Set expectations for each installation, including safety and code requirements.
- Ensure equipment is ordered and jobs are properly staged and verified by install crews.
- Conduct training to ensure on-time, high-quality installations, and a 5-star customer experience.
- Promote enthusiasm and brand loyalty during daily huddles, team meetings, and 1:1’s.
- Analyze and control job expenses to meet the budget.
- Know how to establish customer rapport to ensure the highest levels of satisfaction.
- The HVAC Installation Manager facilitates and performs quality and safety inspections on new Installations. Troubleshoot, and resolve installation and start-up issues.
- Provide consistent and accurate feedback, encouragement, support, professional development, and coaching to Installation Technicians and Field Supervisors.
- The HVAC Installation Manager will partner with service, dispatch, warehouse, and other various departments to ensure timely and accurate service to customers in accordance with company standards and procedures.
- Follow up and resolve escalated customer disputes/complaints, ensuring an effective and long-term resolution, and provide daily feedback to HVAC Operations Manager.
- Plan, forecast, and coordinate Installations. Communicate clear goals and expectations to Installation Technicians.
- Help instill an open and nurturing culture where our team of installers can learn from you on how to do the jobs right the first time and minimize call backs and improve their technical and installation skills.
- Ensure that safety topics are incorporated into one-to-one coaching conversations, weekly meetings, and training sessions. Monitor and act on trends involving Installation Technician callbacks and service opportunities.
Requirements:
- Proven track record in HVAC installation, service, and/or coordination, with 5 years of demonstrated HVAC leadership experience.
- Successful leadership/management experience managing a Home Service/Install team of over minimum of 15 employees.
- OSHA30 knowledge and/or certification.
- Multitasker who enjoys working with diverse teams on varied projects.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized with exceptional follow-through abilities.
- Analytical thinker who takes ownership and possesses a high level of financial acumen.
- Strong decision-making abilities, verbal, and written communication skills.

- Ability to read, interpret, utilize, and train on manuals, schematics, and control circuits related to HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Technical aptitude with knowledge of local codes and ability to use resources to find solutions.
- Have and Maintain a Clean Valid Driver’s license.
