What to Expect
Tesla has an opportunity at our Sand Diego site for a Facilities Specialist with an emphasis on HVAC maintenance and repair. The HVAC/Facilities Specialist is a position for a self-starter who must be extremely thorough, who possess outstanding organizational skills, and who demonstrates diligence and devotion throughout the entire coordination process through task and project completion for numerous projects. It is imperative this individual is able to take the initiative to drive results with minimal supervision, be solution oriented, and has the ability to coordinate with multiple parties involved. This role does require travel as the position will be managing HVAC and other facilities issues for site throughout the US and Canada.
What You'll Do
- Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing new and old HVAC equipment. Perform Precision Tune- Ups, perform routine maintenance checks to ensure optimal system performance. Comprehensive refrigerant trouble-shooting experience
- Installation: Install HVAC systems, including ductwork, air handlers, compressors, and thermostats. Repair or replace worn or defective parts, including condensers, compressors, pumps, valves, motors, bearings, and belts
- Maintain inventory of parts and appliances; conduct general maintenance and maintain the orderliness of facilities
- Respond to emergency service calls promptly and efficiently
- Manage FEXA WO system. Create, assign, and manage WOs for San Diego and other National and Canada sites. Travel to sites as needed for additional troubleshooting and assistance with HVAC issues or other facility issues. Solid understanding of facility and building maintenance issues
- Follow all standard operating procedures. Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of work performed
- Assist Workplace in needs for the office, such as moves, furniture install, vendor management, etc.
What You'll Bring
- Minimum of 4 years HVAC Service and Repair experience as a Lead. EPA Universal 608 certified Compliance: Ensure compliance with appliance standards and with OSHA
- Confident and self-motivated. Excellent work ethic and professionalism. Highly Dependable, punctual, and efficient, Detail oriented and professional appearance and demeanor
- Excels at following all Standard Operating Procedures
- Set regular maintenance goals (daily, weekly, monthly & yearly)
- Quickly acclimate to extreme temperatures
- Valid driver’s license

Expected Compensation
$64,600 - $114,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
