Job Overview
GENERAL PIPING MANAGER/FOREMAN. This is a higher-level position for someone with significant piping experience who can lead and help build a team of piping installers and fabricators.. They will be working on the projects when they start the position. As the workload picks up their time would be split between working and supervising the shop and field.
The ideal candidate has been in the business a minimum of 10 years with significant piping experience in the field and or shop. They will have the opportunity and be tasked with building their team. They should have experience in copper, steel and plastic piping including brazing and welding.
They could be a lead foreman looking to move up at the present time and or a general manager/foreman.
Duties
- review drawings for best and most efficient installation practices
- order piping materials for prefabrication and installation
- schedule delivery of materials in a timely manner
- support foreman in the field
- supervise quality
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of construction piping crews
- Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Review and interpret blueprints and project specifications to guide work processes.
- Conduct regular quality control inspections to ensure compliance with project standards and specifications.
- Utilize piping and fabrication tools and troubleshooting as required.
- Manage project contracts, ensuring adherence to terms and conditions.
- Collaborate with project managers on budgeting and resource allocation.
- Implement safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Utilize software tools such as Procore, Outlook, Excel , Procore for project management and documentation.
Skills
- Proficient in project scheduling techniques to optimize workflow.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and equipment used in pipeline projects.
- Excellent blueprint reading skills for accurate interpretation of plans.
- Knowledgeable in quality control processes to uphold high standards of workmanship.
- Familiarity with budgeting practices to effectively manage project costs.
- Experience with contract management to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Ability to lead teams effectively while fostering a collaborative work environment.
This role is essential for driving the success of our construction projects while ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency at every stage.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50.00 - $65.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 48 per week
