We are seeking an experienced and hands-on General Manager to oversee operations, drive efficiency, and ensure the highest quality of service for our clients while identifying growth opportunities in an expanding marketplace.
Job Summary:
The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the company. This includes managing the daily activities of the team, optimizing workflows, ensuring service quality, and maintaining client satisfaction. The ideal candidate is a skilled leader with a deep understanding of the residential construction or handyman services industry and a passion for growing a business through operational excellence, customer relationships, and strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership:
- Oversee and coordinate daily field operations, ensuring projects are completed on time and to high-quality standards.
- Develop and implement efficient processes to streamline scheduling, resource allocation, and project management.
- Monitor and maintain equipment, tools, and inventory to ensure operational readiness.
- Maintain compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Customer Relations:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Actively gather and act on customer feedback to improve service delivery and client experiences.
- Resolve client concerns promptly and professionally, serving as a trusted representative of the company.
- Review project estimates timely for customer proposals.
- Revenue Growth and Market Expansion:
- Identify new opportunities in an expanding marketplace, including potential services, partnerships, and client segments.
- Collaborate with the team to develop and execute strategies to attract new clients and increase revenue streams.
- Monitor competitor activity and industry trends to position the company for sustained growth.
- Work with marketing and sales efforts to enhance brand visibility and capitalize on market demand.
- Team Management:
- Supervise, train, and support a team of 12 employees, including field technicians and office staff.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, provide updates, and address challenges.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Project Oversight:
- Review work orders, schedules, and project plans to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress, provide guidance, and maintain quality control.
- Work closely with field technicians to address operational challenges and improve workflows.
- Strategic Planning:
- Identify areas for operational improvement and implement solutions to enhance productivity and service delivery.
- Stay informed about industry trends and tools to keep the company competitive.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a General Manager, Operations Manager, or in a similar leadership role, preferably in the residential and commercial repair, remodeling, or construction industry.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a focus on team building and employee development.
- Hands-on knowledge of field operations, project management, and quality control.
- Experience in customer relations and business development, with a demonstrated ability to grow revenue.
- Familiarity with scheduling tools, CRM systems, and other business management software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Practical experience in residential construction, remodeling, or related trades.
- Knowledge of local building codes and safety standards.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
