About the Position
The Service Technician Supervisor is responsible for the planning and supervision of skilled trades specialists involved in construction, maintenance, installation and diagnostic projects for County facilities and grounds. Job duties typically include planning, developing, scheduling, and prioritizing projects, ensuring that projects meet quality standards and are completed on time. Incumbent will participate in the budget process, preparing cost estimates for budget proposals, monitoring and tracking budget expenditures, ensuring adherence to safety rules and regulations and inspecting project sites. Supervisory responsibilities include hiring, assigning, and monitoring workload, determining work priorities, training, completing performance management and recommending and implementing policies and procedures.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
High school diploma or GED
Experience
Five (5) years journey-level trades experience in refrigeration, electrical or commercial food service equipment
Combined education and experience qualifications
Other combinations of education and experience may be considered in substitution for the minimum qualifications.
Specialized training, certifications, and/or other special requirements:
Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license or have the ability to obtain by the time of hire.
Training that may be provided on-the-job: FEMA NIMS – IS100 and 700; Safety; Payroll; PREA.
Prior to hiring, the Sheriff's Office requires that all candidates pass a background review.

Prior lead and/or supervisory experience is preferred.
Completion of recognized trades program is preferred. A recognized trades program includes, but is not limited to, those accredited by a Nationally Recognized Agency, Department of Education or Federal Trades Commission.
Working conditions:
Work occurs indoors and outdoors. Position requires the ability to be available all hours and shifts as deemed necessary by the Food Services Maintenance Supervisor, in order to maintain equipment to include holidays and weekends. May have contact with working inmates.

Commercial food service equipment, hydraulic systems, and their applications.
Pneumatic devices such as control valves, cylinders, and switching devices.
OSHA safety regulations.

ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS:
Be present at work site to perform assigned tasks at the time and date scheduled or assigned by the Supervisor.
Troubleshoot all areas, and repair equipment.
Supervise and manage the repairs of all Food Service kitchen equipment.
Manage all maintenance PM and service calls.
Inventory and order parts for stockroom.
receive parts for equipment.
Supervise Service Technician staff.
Prepare Employee Performance Appraisals.
Mentor.
Provide disciplinary action as needed.
Maintain working relationship and contact with vendors.
Read electronic schematics on equipment and provide information to subordinate staff.
Prepare document to request Purchase Orders.
Evaluate needs of Section and recommend purchase of equipment where needed.
Maintain equipment inventory.
Oversee and supervise control room parts inventory.
Compile and maintain budget and data files.
Calculate data and compile weekly reports.
Prepare, print, and submit monthly reports to management.
Consistently update all computer files.
SELECTION PROCEDURE:

Typically successful candidates are hired at a salary rate, up to midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience, internal equity and budgetary allowances.
