Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced HVAC Technician with expertise in control systems to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC systems installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, as well as hands-on experience working with advanced control systems, building automation, and energy management technologies. This role requires a problem-solving mindset, technical aptitude, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including air conditioners, heating units, and ventilation equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues with HVAC systems.
- Work with building automation systems (BAS) and control systems to ensure optimal operation and performance of HVAC systems.
- Program and configure control systems, including temperature sensors, thermostats, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
- Perform system testing, calibration, and ensure proper functionality of control systems.
- Provide guidance on energy-efficient HVAC solutions and assist with system optimization for performance and energy savings.
- Respond to service calls for HVAC and control system issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Complete maintenance logs, service reports, and document work performed in compliance with company standards and customer requirements.
- Educate clients on proper use and maintenance of their HVAC and control systems.
- Collaborate with team members and provide technical support and expertise on complex systems.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new control technologies, and HVAC best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in HVAC or Controls preferred.
- Proven experience as an HVAC Technician, with a minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, control systems, and building automation (BAS).
- Experience with programming and troubleshooting control systems, including thermostats, sensors, and VFDs.
- Familiarity with various HVAC and control system manufacturers and models.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose complex HVAC and control system issues.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- EPA Certification (Type I & II or Universal) required.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions and lift heavy equipment.
