Our Client is responsible for transporting new vehicles from the manufacturer plant to satellite lots and is seeking to hire a SUPERVISOR yard leader for their Detroit lot.
- Supervising vehicle porters
- Must have experience inputting data into Excel
- Must provide a resume with supervision experience in the automotive field
- Must be a quick, logical thinker that has skills in problem solving management
SEE IF YOU QUALIFY- Please read below for further requirements before applying:
- Aged between 23-70
- At least 2 years of US licensed driving experience
- May not have any major violations within the last five (5) years.
Major Violations shall mean:
- Driving while intoxicated (DWI/OWI), implied consent, any suspension of the driver's license for failure to submit to alcohol testing.
- Driving under the influence (DUI/OUI) implied consent, any drug related violation or any suspension of the driver's license for failure to submit to drug testing that as/have occurred within the five (5) years prior to the inception date of this policy or to the date of hire of the driver, whichever is the later.
- Manslaughter or negligent homicide.
- Felony involving a motor vehicle.
- Racing
- Hit and Run
- Reckless Driving
- License suspension for points
- Driving while license suspended
- Fleeing/Eluding arrest
- Multiple driver licenses not reported to the underwriters
- Drivers in excess of 100 miles per hour that has occurred within the last five (5) years or to the date of hire of the driver, whichever is the later.
Position Summary
The Yard Leader is responsible for managing specific yard activities. Primary goals are to ensure that the requirements of the Yard Management group as well as our customer requirements are met.
The Yard Leader reports to the Operations Manager and / or Group Leader and has direct responsibility to lead their location.
Position Responsibilities:
- Know, understand and follow Yard Management Processes.
- Know the inspection process (inbound / post campaign) and train team on standardized inspections process.
- Know how to use equipment (scanners/computer/etc.) and train a team.
- Fill out necessary paperwork on a daily basis.
- Know, understand, and use Quality Management System and train team.
- Know, understand, follow, and enforce HR and Safety Policies that affect location.
- Manage a staff of 12 employees. Very fast paced environment.
- Accurate arrival of inbound vehicles.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Education
- High school diploma or GED.
Training
- Computer training helpful, but not necessary.
Skills
- Verbal and written communications skills.
- Intermediate computer skills.
Experience
- Experience in production field.
- Experience with leadership.
