The Quikrete® Companies is seeking an Electrician for the San Antonio, TX.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The following statements describe the key responsibilities to be performed by the position. Key responsibilities are those the individual must be able to perform unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation.
- Install rigid conduit (bending and threading).
- Pull wire into raceways.
- Termination of wire at components.
- Install motor drive devices (Soft Start, VFD, Full Voltage, etc.).
- Troubleshoot 480-volt 3-phase electrical distribution systems.
- Trouble shoot 120V electrical distribution systems.
- Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment.
- Build industrial control panels from schematics and upgrade outdated systems and components as needed.
- Understand Arc Flash ratings and recommended practices.
- Recommend changes, modifications or upgrades of equipment to improve machine reliability and performance.
- Identify and examine production equipment failures to understand root cause analysis.
- Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing maintenance requirements on electric motors, pneumatic diverters, conveyor systems and production machines.
- Follow all diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications.
- Troubleshoot malfunctions by locating sources of problems, observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems with the equipment and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Record all maintenance and repair services performed using the Company’s work order software, which also includes keeping track of all materials and parts used during the repair process.
- Housekeeping responsibilities shall be maintained in all areas including repair job sites throughout the facility.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: The following is the requisite education and/or work experience for this position.
- Electrical Journeyman’s License preferred with at least 5 years of industrial electrical maintenance.
- Basic math skills are required.
- Basic understanding of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and robotics.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures.
- Basic hydraulics/pneumatics experience required.
- Electrical experience (480/110/low voltage) experience is required.
- Must have proficient working knowledge and safe use of hand tools and industrial shop tools.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal customers.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion.
