Position: General Manager-TownePlace Suites by Marriott Venice, Florida
Description: The General Manager is responsible for management of all hotel operations and procedures in accordance with Corporate policies and Franchise standards.
The General Manager will ensure that company values and benchmarks of Guest Satisfaction, Associate Satisfaction, Owner Relations, Revenue, Profitability and Asset Management are met or exceeded.
Responsibilities:
- Physically tours and inspects the property daily; to include property condition, cleanliness, safety, and quality of product and service throughout hotel.
- Monitors market trends and guest feedback to identify business opportunities and opportunities for improvement.
- Takes personal ownership for the day-to-day operations and is available when needed including weekends, nights and overnight in an emergency role.
- Drives elite guest satisfaction scores (GSS) and third-party scores on partnership sites.
- Drives all Revenue. Participates in weekly Revenue Calls and is involved with all Revenue decisions.
- Works closely with the Complex Director of Sales to attract and retain Corporate, BT and Group business.
- Manages financial and operational information to meet labor requirements and operating costs.
- Administers Human Resources functions including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, and coaching & counseling.
- Establishes and maintains Preventative Maintenance Programs to protect and enhance the physical assets of the Hotel as per Brand Standards.
- Leads quality daily, weekly, monthly in effort to be ready and compliant for a Brand Standards Audit (QA).
- Considers all liability issues first and foremost before making any decisions.
- Participates in community events. Meets with potential and current clients and promotes the Hotel.
- Addresses any additional assignments administered by the Corporate Hotel Director of Operations.
Minimum Requirements:
- Three years of AGM/GM experience (combined) minimally is required.
- Major brand experience is essential. Marriott experience is a HUGE PLUS.
- Hospitality, Business or Marketing Degree is preferred.
- Strong and successful Owner Relations experience is required.
- Strong inter-working philosophy and ability to work with sister properties is necessary.
- Works in a hands-on capacity when needed.
- Ability to build a culture and develop a dynamic team is imperative.
- Local Venice/Sarasota Market experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is a necessity.
- Ability to occasionally travel is a requirement.
