Job Schedule: Full Time. Day Shift. Monday through Friday, 8am - 4:30pm EST. Schedule Subject to Change, Based on Business Needs. Overtime opportunities available, upon approval of District Fleet Manager.
Job Summary:
Our mechanics are critical to our business. We are looking for an experienced Mechanic to care for our fleet of vehicles and keep our operations running smoothly. SCA maintains of fleet of sweepers, dump trucks, flatbed trucks, pickup trucks, trailers, attenuators, and various other support equipment. You must have experience working on heavy trucks. We are a growing company so you will have room to grow and advance your career. In this role you will be working with hydraulics, electrical, engine diagnosis and repair, air brakes and ABS repairs. Transmission and driveline knowledge along with frame and suspension work. Lots of variety. Work will include preventative maintenance and light repairs of various chassis manufacturers and up fit configurations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Must be comfortable with hydraulics, electrical, engine diagnosis and repair, air brakes and ABS repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of each repair performed
- Perform chassis preventative maintenance and light repairs to chassis and up fit components
- Welding, using a cutting torch and fabricate.
- Should know A/C and exhaust diagnosis and repairs.
- Must be familiar with using computer diagnostic equipment.
- Assist other mechanics with advanced repairs.
- Complete inspections and associated repairs.
- Assist in the management of the shop.

Job Requirements:
- 3-5 plus years of mechanic experience for a strong class B to Class A Diesel Mechanic.
- Prior Lead/Management Experience, Preferred
- Toolbox and basic hand tools, Required.
- Ability to perform standard chassis PM services (fluid and filter changes and grease components)
- Ability to perform inspections and complete repairs
- Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot electrical systems.
- Ability and willingness to assist lower-level mechanics and perform repairs under their supervision
- Have a valid chauffeur license required, CDL preferred
- DOT Physical Required, but paid for by Company expense
- Acceptable MVR, Required
- Experience working on heavy equipment and trucks, preferred
- Willingness to learn and have a positive attitude
- You must have a good work ethic and have consistent attendance
- Use all required PPE and work safely
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- This work can be done in high noise environments with exposure to vibration and fumes
- This a physical job. You could be required to lift up 50 pounds and the job frequently involves carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, reaching, and standing
