Position Summary: The primary responsibility of this position is to install, troubleshoot, and maintain underground gas distribution piping systems for natural gas utilities. This includes the joining of piping by means of fusion, electrofusion, or mechanical coupled joints. In addition to completing tasks as directed by the Foreman or other senior members of the crew. You will provide support in the installation, replacement, or repair of gas utilities. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
· Perform general labor duties such as loading/unloading equipment, materials, excavating, trenching, and shoring.
· Ability to safely use hand tools or equipment, to dig near coworkers, or any existing utility structures to prevent damage.
· Maintain an organized worksite that is clean and free from unnecessary hazards.
· Construct, install and maintain underground gas distribution piping systems for natural gas utilities. This requires the proper operator qualifications to be obtained and maintained. Failure to obtain and maintain the necessary OQs may result in demotion, reduction in hourly pay rate, or termination of employment.
· Ensure all project work is compliant with installation standards and is being performed safely.
· Assist Foreman with installation of services, and perform other tasks requested by leadership.
Competencies & requirements:
· Good verbal communication skills with customers, vendors, clients, and team members, as well as comprehending written and verbal instruction.
· Maintain a valid driver’s license and pass a DOT physical (preferred).
· Strong work ethic with the ability to effectively work in a team environment.
· Complete all work in an organized timely manner, while adhering to the company’s safety protocols and any applicable regulations.
· Understand the proper use for PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). This will include the ability to wear the proper issued FR (Fire Retardant) clothing.
· Physical demands include but are not limited to standing for extended periods of time, walking, lifting, and carrying.

· Strength and endurance must be adequate to endure arduous labor in all outdoor weather conditions.
· Ability to read and understand plans, specifications, and quality standards.
· It is imperative to be punctual, daily at the assigned time and ready to work. This is non-negotiable.
· Minimum of 2 years Gas Experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS:
The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met to perform the essential functions of this job successfully:
· Able to pass the respirator fit test if working in an environment where required.
· Employee must be able to stand, bend, and crouch as required to perform key duties during a regular work shift.
· Have ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds personally, and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
· Be able to maintain constant alertness to the multiple activities and hazards of the construction site.
· Have ability to frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions.
· Work may involve a variety of substances commonly found on construction sites such as form oil, grease, curing compounds, gasoline, diesel fuel, dust, etc.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
