Position Summary:
The HVAC Control Mechanic performs maintenance, installation, and repair work on instrumentation control systems (pneumatic and electronic) serving HVAC systems. The HVC Control Mechanic performs installations, repairs, and fabricates sheet metal/metal components related to HVAC and other trades. This work is performed under general supervision and using the tools and techniques of HVAC technology.
Competencies:
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Successful completion of formal training in the HVAC trade at a vocational or technical school, college, or apprenticeship sponsor organization.
Training in instrumentation control systems (pneumatic and electronic) serving HVAC systems and components.
Skills:
Applies HVAC instrumentation and control, sheet metal and safety knowledge indicated herein.
Ability to diagnose complex automatic temperature control problems in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Ability to install, calibrate, and maintain pneumatic, electric, and electronic controls.
Proficient in the operation of the Andover Infinity and Johnson Metasys systems.

All types of tools and equipment normally used in the HVAC trade, including specialized equipment such as precision measuring instruments (dial indicators and calipers), powered portable, bench and hand tools (such as drills, grinders, compressed air), as well as non-powered hand tools.
