Facilities Technician
Overview
National Aviation Services is currently hiring for a Facilities Technician at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. The facilities technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of the equipment. The facilities technician will also be responsible for the coordination of the on-site maintenance program. The ideal candidate will have experience with manufacturing and or engineering equipment.
Responsibilities:
o Performs on-call repairs and preventive maintenance of SWA facilities and equipment (excluding station ground equipment, computer terminals, etc.) as assigned by the Employee's Leaders
o Responsible for keeping the workshops and tools clean and organized, maintaining inventory control, and performing other duties as required
o Performs light construction duties, including drywall, acoustical ceiling, tape, bed, texture and painting
o Works with the Team to ensure all repairs are performed and requests responded to in a professional and timely manner; and process daily work order requests
o Assists in scheduling contractors and performing work so as to have the least impact on our Customers' daily operations
o Performs routine, systematic inspections, including functionality and condition of mechanical and electrical rooms, restrooms, public areas, roofs, exterior finishes, sidewalks, holdrooms, potable water cabinets, stairwells, and parking areas (where applicable)
o Provides facilities maintenance services supporting Southwest's transportation operations located in various facilities
o Assists in the preparation of the facility for extreme weather conditions
o Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description
o May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders

Additional Job Description
Education
o Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
o Required: knowledge of applicable construction and building repair fundamentals, including electrical and mechanical repair gained through trade school courses, training programs, or on-the-job experience
o Preferred: 3 Years of experience with basic construction/facility repair experience
Licensing/Certification
o Must have a valid driver's license
o Must be able to obtain a SIDA (Secured Identification Display Area) badge and meet all local airport requirements
Physical Abilities
o Must be able to lift and/or move items of 75 pounds or more on a regular basis
o Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions as necessary
o Must be able to climb, bend, kneel, crawl and stoop on a regular basis
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: $32.00 - $35.00 per hour
