International Cold Storage Facilities Maintenance Engineer – Middle East/ North Africa (MENA Region)
CLIENT is currently seeking Cold Storage Facilities Managers/Building Engineers with overseas maintenance experience for multiple international opportunities in the MENA Region. Candidates should be interested in travelling on rotations to the Middle East or North Africa.
SUMMARY: The Cold Storage Facilities Maintenance Engineer (FME) will provide hands-on, day-to-day facility operation and maintenance, including a wide range of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC/R systems. The FME should be a problem solver, with the ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions as well as operate independently. The FM/BE should be experienced in navigating cross-cultural differences in the workplace.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in managing all aspects of building O&M, including expertise or certification in one or more of the following areas: plumbing; HVAC/R; cold storage; engineering; power; and electrical. Top candidates will be computer and technology-savvy, and possess the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, service providers, and manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Familiarity with food processing and refrigeration is strongly desired.
Desired candidates will also demonstrate flexibility to perform other duties and responsibilities as required by the business; the ability to handle multiple competing priorities; and demonstrate the ability to leverage mechanical ability, problem-solving skills and creativity to resolve issues.
Professional education, licenses and certifications should be commensurate with experience level and demonstrate increasing professional responsibility and expertise. Candidates should be team players and demonstrate good judgement.
A multilingual individual with strong communications skills in English, Arabic, or Urdu is highly desired. Candidates should be interested in travelling on rotations to the Middle East or North Africa. Candidates must abide by a drug-free workplace policy and are subject to testing.
Interested applicants should:
· Have a minimum high school degree with a trade/licensed profession; post secondary education a plus – 7 years of industry experience with increasing responsibility may be accepted in lieu of education.
· Have at least 7 years of facility management and/or building maintenance experience, some or all of which have been overseas.
· Be knowledgeable of plumbing, HVACR, mechanical, and electrical systems operations and maintenance.
· Possess basic computer skills and demonstrate willingness and ability to learn other applications related to the job.
· Have Arabic/Urdu language fluency, with the ability to read instructions and communicate in English.
· Be willing to relocate and travel; or work internationally on extended rotations.
· Be capable of working independently or as part of a team.
· Be comfortable managing teams, working with foreign nationals and navigating cultural differences, as well as breaking through non-English speaking language barriers.
· Have a calm demeanor and willingness to receive constructive feedback.
· Demonstrate leadership, responsiveness, and creativity.
· Demonstrate strong interpersonal and problem-solving ability.
