Job Description:
The Solar Journeyman Electrician at Nivo Solar will play a key role in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. This position requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, ensuring that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest industry standards. You will collaborate closely with the installation team to ensure seamless integration of electrical components into solar installations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems for residential solar PV installations.
- Ensure all wiring, grounding, and electrical components meet the applicable codes and standards.
- Collaborate with the installation team to ensure proper system layout and wiring connections.
- Conduct testing and inspection of electrical systems to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
- Provide technical support and guidance to the solar installation team.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for system installations.
- Identify and resolve issues with solar systems, including inverters, wiring, and other electrical components.
- Adhere to all company safety standards and protocols, ensuring a secure work environment.
- Maintain accurate documentation of electrical work performed and ensure compliance with local regulations.
- Stay updated on industry advancements and electrical code changes.
Qualifications:
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license in any local AHJ.
- Minimum 2 years of electrical experience, preferably in the solar or renewable energy industry.
- Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, solar PV systems, and relevant building codes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in working with hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to work on rooftops and lift heavy equipment as needed.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
