Job Description:
The Electrical & Instrumentation Supervisor will be responsible for designing, develop and test complex industrial and domestic electrical equipment and communication systems, power generators, motors, and navigation systems. Oversee routine maintenance and repairs of the plant facilities equipment in accordance with code and with the direction of the Maintenance Manager. Supervises and trains less experienced maintenance employees to ensure that all plant assets are maintained in a safe and productive operating condition. To do well in this role you should be a licensed professional engineer and have extensive experience as an electrical engineer, preferably experience in the Recycling industry.
Electrical Engineer Job Functions:
- Working knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC-5, SLC-500, Control Logic and Compact Logic PLC Auto Cad and EPLAN hardware and software experience.
- Designing, maintaining, implementing, or improving electrical instruments, facilities, components, equipment products, or systems for industrial, or domestic purposes.
- Performing a wide range of engineering tasks by operating computer-assisted design or engineering software and equipment.
- Ensuring that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements by preparing electrical systems, specifications, technical drawings, or topographical maps.
- Creativity and strong analytical skills to solve complex technical challenges with innovative solutions.
- Pro-active and self- motivated team player with strong engineering judgment skills
- Experienced in repairs/replacing various pumps, valves, motors, conveyors, belts, drives, gearboxes, and chain driven equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics.
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
- Ability to read work orders, blueprints, and drawings.
- Advanced knowledge of automated machinery.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to solve complex problems and make decisions.
- Millwright, pipefitting, and welding experience preferred.
- Ability to operate forklift and other heavy industrial machinery.
- Use feeler, depth, tension, and spring gauges; micrometers; and dial indicators to measure clearances, tolerances, and dimensional characteristics.
- Ability to complete an assigned task in a safe manner and must understand and follow all safety and quality rules and procedures.
- Must be able to work in a cooperative manner with craft workers, laborers, subcontractors, co-workers, supervisors, and others on the jobsite and in the office.
- Must be able to follow company policies and procedures.

Job Requirements:
Qualified candidates must have excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills. Technician will perform and train less experienced personnel in preventative maintenance and completing work orders. Must be able to read and understand equipment manuals and share vital information about safety and general operation with employees under his/her authority. Previous experience in an environment driven by excellence in safety, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement, and “zero down time mentality” preferred. Must be willing to work nights and or, “on call” shifts if required.
Job Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, and extreme cold. Education/Training/Experience
- 5+ years related work experience
- Experience in supervisory level role
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
- Preferred Associate’s Degree/certification from an accredited Instrument or Electrical Technician Program
- Knowledge of applicable codes related to electronic engineering.
- Proficient in design and calculation software
- Predictive and Preventative Maintenance experience.
- Knowledge of plant operations, production maintenance, machine shop, and industrial construction.
- Strong knowledge and experience in project work and understanding of fabrication, mechanical, electrical, and electronic principles.
- Must understand specific OSHA and EPA standards as they relate to plant environment.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
