Eaton’s Corporate Sector division is currently seeking a Industrial Hygiene Manager. This is a Hybrid-Remote role (2 days work from home each week) based at our Beachwood, OH headquarters.
The Manager, Industrial Hygiene will lead the Global Industrial Hygiene (IH) and Occupational Health Programs and serve as Eaton’s subject matter expert (SME). The individual will develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive operating plan to ensure all potential employee exposures to chemical, physical, biological and ergonomic stressors are assessed, documented and controlled and in compliance with global regulatory requirements and industry best practice. The Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Health program will be linked to the overall Eaton Management System for Environmental Health and Safety (MESH) and will conform to the principles of the Eaton Business System (EBS).
The expected annual salary range for this role is $120075.03 - $176110.04 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

Essential Functions:
- Acts as Eaton’s expert and provides consultative guidance for global Eaton operations on Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Health related topics, including industrial hygiene training, risk assessments, monitoring plans, results interpretation, recommendation for controls, medical surveillance, etc.
- Benchmark internally and externally to ensure Eaton maintains best-in-class practices, and that Eaton is current on regulatory compliance issues and overall trends that may impact Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Health management for the Company.
- Provide required technical industrial hygiene expertise and advice in dealing with internal and external stakeholders. Internal stakeholders include the Law Department, Insurance and Risk Management, Global Communications, EHS Operations and Facility/Plant Operations. External stakeholders include regulators, communities, investors, and other companies and private parties with whom Eaton may have shared industrial hygiene responsibilities.
- Directs, selects, and monitors the activities of outside Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health and Ergonomics consultants so that the work is compliant, technically correct, innovative, cost effective, and within time frames mandated by the regulating agency and/or Eaton.
- Uses performance data to set improvement goals and targets for existing Corporate programs and to identify need for new programs.
- Works closely with Eaton’s Technical Programs and EHS Operations Teams to assure aligned and complimentary programs are planned and/or implemented.
- Acts as EHS liaison for Eaton’s Product Stewardship, Workers’ Compensation and Wellbeing organizations and provides guidance/collaboration as needed.
- Works with leadership team to create targets and objectives based on key EHS risks.
- Creates and facilitates EHS engagement through EHS teams and committees needed to accomplish the established targets and objectives for the year.
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in the environmental, safety, and health function at a manufacturing operation.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Beachwood, OH will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
- This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of industrial health risks and controls, including ergonomics, radiation, chemical exposures, noise, ventilation, etc.
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
- Coursework in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, Etc.
- Demonstrated skills in building working relationships with all levels of employees in the organization.
- Working knowledge of prudent controlled uses of chemicals in a manufacturing environment and maintaining solutions within the proper concentration ranges to assure production and quality.
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations associated with EHS such as hazardous waste, OSHA, EPA, workers compensation, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to make effective decisions and to drive continuous improvement activities.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct root cause analysis.
- Professional certification in EHS related field is preferred.
- Provides chemical expertise in trouble shooting production problems related to chemical and physical processes including grinding, plating, heat treating and waste treatment.
- Working knowledge of cross-functional EHS disciplines.
- Ability to act as an agent of change. Effective in enabling and driving change
- Ability to communicate with clarity, impact and passion
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage and track multiple projects to completion
- Adept at development and utilization of software solutions
- Understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes
- Ability to demonstrate managerial courage
