Job Description:
The General Maintenance Worker performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, HVAC, and electrical work.
Pay Rate: $29.50
Shift: May work either 6:00am - 3:00pm or 9:00am-6:00pm, Monday-Friday
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing: chillers and chilled water systems; building HVAC equipment; boilers and hot water heating systems; domestic water and plumbing systems; electrical systems including lighting, motors, starters, contractors, etc.
- Replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors
- Using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings
- Repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets
- Painting structures and equipment
- Repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks
- Replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles
- Hanging doors and installing door locks
- Replacing broken window panes
- Performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery
- Maintenance of Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
- Maintenance of concrete and asphalt roads, parking lots and sidewalks.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
- 2 years recent experience (within past 5 years) in building operations, repair, and maintenance or in an occupation such as a general mechanic, maintenance electrician, maintenance plumber, etc.
- Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel and e-mail applications
- Ability to organize and prioritize job duties and assignments
- Ability to work in a team environment

- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent

Working Environment:
Work takes places in a commerical sized office building with indoor and outdoor exposure.
