Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated HVAC Service Technician & Installer to join our growing team. This role involves both servicing and installing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for residential and commercial customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to provide high-quality customer service. Key Responsibilities:
HVAC Installation:
- Install heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for residential and commercial clients, ensuring compliance with all codes and standards.
- Work with various HVAC systems (furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, etc.) to ensure proper installation.
- Verify system installations meet industry standards and customer specifications.
- Perform equipment start-up and system testing to ensure proper functionality.
- Provide clients with user instructions and ensure they are fully informed about their new HVAC systems.
HVAC Service & Maintenance:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair HVAC systems, including air conditioners, heating units, ventilation systems, and other related equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, inspecting, and replacing parts of HVAC systems.
- Identify and resolve issues with thermostats, electrical systems, refrigerants, ductwork, and other components.
- Offer recommendations for repairs, upgrades, or replacements based on system assessments.
- Maintain accurate service records, documenting work completed, parts used, and time spent on-site.
- Provide preventative maintenance and perform seasonal tune-ups to ensure systems operate efficiently.
Customer Service:
- Interact professionally with clients, ensuring clear communication about services provided, costs, and the status of any repairs or installations.
- Educate clients on proper HVAC system maintenance and energy-saving tips.
- Address customer concerns promptly and provide effective solutions.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other technicians and staff to ensure timely project completion.
- Assist with inventory management, including tracking parts and equipment for installations and repairs.
- Participate in on-call rotation, if required, to handle after-hours service calls.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in HVAC service or installation.
- Licenses/Certifications: Valid HVAC technician certification (EPA 608, NATE, or other relevant certifications) preferred. Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of HVAC systems, troubleshooting techniques, and industry safety standards.
- Technical Skills: Experience with HVAC installation tools, diagnostic equipment, and HVAC software is a plus.
- Customer Service: Ability to communicate effectively with customers and explain complex technical issues in simple terms.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs), work in tight spaces, and perform tasks in varying weather conditions.
- Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with the ability to think critically and solve problems efficiently.
- Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, providing support and collaboration where needed.
