Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Plumbing and HVAC Helpers to assist our skilled tradespeople on commercial construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience and grow their career in the plumbing and HVAC fields. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist plumbers and HVAC mechanics with the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing and HVAC systems.
- Support the installation of pipes, ductwork, fixtures, and equipment according to project specifications.
- Gather and organize tools, materials, and supplies required for each task.
- Load and unload materials and equipment at job sites.
- Help maintain a clean and safe work environment, including job site cleanup and equipment organization.
- Perform basic tasks such as cutting, measuring, and threading pipes.
- Follow instructions from journeymen and foremen to complete assigned tasks.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in construction or mechanical trades is a plus but not required.
- Basic understanding of tools and equipment used in plumbing and HVAC systems.
- Strong work ethic and a desire to learn new skills.
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including lifting heavy objects, climbing, and working in confined spaces or at heights.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Reliable transportation to job sites.
- Willingness to complete training and certifications as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with commercial construction projects.
- Basic knowledge of blueprints or technical drawings.
- OSHA 10 or 30 Certification (can be obtained upon hire).
