Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial HVAC Mechanic to join our team. This role involves the installation, repair, and maintenance of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems on commercial properties. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise with various HVAC systems, the ability to read and interpret blueprints, and a commitment to ensuring customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems, including rooftop units, chillers, boilers, and split systems.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with HVAC systems and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Install ductwork, piping, and related equipment according to project specifications and building codes.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to execute installations and repairs.
- Test HVAC systems for proper functioning and compliance with standards.
- Work closely with project managers, foremen, and other trades to complete projects on time and within budget.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and installations.
- Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and OSHA regulations on job sites.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns and maintaining a professional demeanor.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as an HVAC mechanic in commercial or industrial settings.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Proficiency with HVAC tools and equipment, including gauges, multimeters, and testing instruments.
- Understanding of HVAC codes, standards, and safety practices.
- EPA Universal Certification for refrigerant handling required.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent physical stamina and the ability to work in various environments, including heights and confined spaces.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with energy-efficient HVAC systems and controls.
- Knowledge of building automation systems (BAS).
- Manufacturer certifications for specific HVAC systems (e.g., Trane, Carrier, Lennox).
