About Us: Established in 1975 by an act of the Virginia General Assembly, the Capital Region Airport Commission owns and operates Richmond International Airport (RIC). The Commission directs the growth, operation and business activities of RIC and works tirelessly to ensure it continues to be an affordable option for local, regional, and out-of-state travelers.
Description of Responsibilities: Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on all Commission owned HVAC equipment including Chillers, Boilers, Cooling Towers, Air Handlers, Roof Top Units, and associated equipment. Inspect all major HVAC equipment daily to ensure proper operation. Monitor the site Building Automation System as required to assist in troubleshooting. Maintains all Commission owned HVAC tools and test equipment in a neat operational manner, recommending repairs, replacements, and purchases. Participate in the snow program.
Required Experience:
- Ability to read and comprehend drawings and schematics of electric, mechanical, and structural systems at a level normally acquired through the completion of High School.
- Knowledge or ability to learn HVAC equipment operation to include centrifugal chillers, pneumatic and electrical control systems, electric heat pump, chemical treatment of HVAC water systems, etc. as normally acquired through completion of a four (4) year technical or “on the job” training program.
Required Skills:
- Must possess basic knowledge, or ability to learn through training, of centrifugal chiller operation, pneumatic controls system operation, electric controls system operation and electric heat pump operation.
- Must possess basic knowledge of electrical control circuitry.
- Ability to troubleshoot, locate and correct HVAC system failures in a timely manner.
- Ability to understand and comprehend mechanical, electrical, and structural blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
