Job Title: Installation Mechanic/ HVAC
Work Hours: 7:00 – 3:00, Monday - Friday, some overtime, some weekends
Primary Function: Responsible for installing HVAC equipment, duct, fittings and controls within allotted budgeted labor hours, as outlined by the job contract. Maintain required levels of truck stock items. Advises Installation Manager of job problems to avoid delays and overruns. Works with installation team on ideas to reduce labor or material costs while maintaining quality.

- Review jobs each morning with Manager and/or Comfort Consultant, load equipment, tools, and materials needed for the job.
- Identify/request needed corrections of equipment and materials.
- Complete installation of equipment according to code, manufactures instructions, and job folder notes.
- Complete quality jobs on or below budgeted labor hours, to meet company installation standards.
- Start and check equipment for correct and proper operation.
- Ensure complete customer satisfaction and that the customer understands the operation of the new equipment and collect payment as necessary.
- Complete paper work daily, recording all hours and materials used on each job.
- Clean entire work area leaving no trash or debris at the customer’s home.
- Perform/assist with maintenance, service and repair as needed.
- Other duties deemed necessary by management.
Indicators:
- Number of times jobs are not installed on schedule.
- Accuracy of paperwork for jobs and turned in timely.
- Number of callbacks on workmanship each month.
- Cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of the company vehicle.
- Equipment, tool, or vehicle breaks due to lack of maintenance or neglect.
Qualifications:
- HVAC Journeyman eligible
- CFC universal certification.
- Valid current driver’s license and criminal record as required by state laws for home service companies and by company insurance carrier(s).
- Pass non-regulated drug screening.
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 70 lbs.
- Two years or more experience with the HVAC trade.
- Demonstrated ability to perform repair work at journeyman level.
- Ability to braze, solder, and read schematics.
- Must have standard technician tools.
- NATE certification is preferred.
- Neat, clean, professional appearance.
