Job Purpose
The Facilities Manager plans, organizes, and directs maintenance operations of Bethany Childrens Health Center (BCHC) facilities both on and off campus. This role includes the development of work schedules and ensuring the quality of all maintenance tasks performed by the assigned staff. Ensures compliance of facilities not limited to annual life-safety, OSHA, NFPA, and annual Fire Marshals and hospital inspections are completed.
Ensures work orders and preventative maintenance actions are completed in a timely and efficient manner. Leads a team of facility maintenance technicians who ensure work is accomplished in a manner consistent with the mission, vision, and values aligned with the hospitals expectations and ACHC and CARF compliance requisites.
This position serves as the primary liaison to contractors for safe and timely implementation of maintenance and minor construction projects. Ensures the Director of Facilities is always informed. Accomplishes other duties as assigned.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Provide daily direction to staff to ensure safe and efficient facilities operations and in compliance with applicable regulatory and safety guidelines and accreditation standards while maintaining service excellence.

Manages building operations and preventative and corrective maintenance, plans and operations, furniture and equipment inventories, utility operations, energy management, and grounds maintenance.

Act as liaison for all construction vendors, facilities vendors with collecting quotes, seeking approval for purchase requests to ensure service agreements are met and in compliance with procedures and budgets.

Oversee and manage all on-site inspections, assisting inspectors and surveyors in the performance of their duties; provide reports as required in follow-up to surveys, inspections and audits.

Serve on all relevant hospital committees as required and requested.

Supervisory Responsibility
The Facility Maintenance Team typically encompasses 4 to 10 team members that would report to the Facilities Manager. Applies all hospital HR policies regarding the progressive discipline process and recommends team members for awards/recognition. Completes annual performance appraisals on assigned maintenance personnel.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelors Degree in Facility Management, Engineering or related field
Experience:
5+ years of facility experience in healthcare experience preferred
3+ years of leadership experience preferred
License/Certification/Credential:
State license as contractor or journeyman in electrical, plumbing and/or HVAC preferred. Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager certification desired.
