ES2 is seeking an HVAC Controls Project Manager team member to join our growing team of trade professionals. The Project Manager will lead a team to complete the scope of work for a portfolio of projects on time, within budget, and within the standard of quality, while maintaining the goodwill of all stakeholders.
JOB SUMMARY
Customer Relations
- Serve as the customer’s primary point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor positive and negative trends in our project outcomes and customer attitudes. Share observations with technicians, other PMs, and upper management to improve on weaknesses, build upon strengths, and avoid repeated failures.
- Strive to meet or exceed customers’ expectations.
- Focus on completing but not exceeding project scope in line with ES2’s quality standards.
Safety
- Learn and follow company and OSHA safety guidelines while ensuring the rest of the team does the same on each assigned project. Proactively identify and manage any safety issues for the team.
Quality Control
- Ensure each project is completed to ES2’s standard of quality and strive to meet or exceed customer expectations. Perform quality control and assessment on each project and confirm that the system as installed will meet the sequence of operations and the customer’s intended purpose.
- In coordination with the Department Manager, communicate with other ES2 project managers to strive toward consistency in our production across teams and branches.
- Maintain focus on continuous improvement, consistently looking for opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Develop and implement processes as necessary to reliably meet goals.
- Inspect and maintain all company provided computers, tools, vehicles and any other equipment.
Professional Image and Development
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude.

- Remain knowledgeable and compliant with corporate policies, procedures, and paperwork.
- Keep team members informed of strategic action plans and initiatives.
Project Management/Administrative Responsibilities
- Understand each project’s scope of work in order to provide proper direction for all phases.
- Manage project budget, schedule, and resources. Plan and control costs, schedule, and quality related to field engineering, installation, subcontracting, and checkout of assigned projects.
- Proactively manage the project schedule. Monitor the construction status and job readiness to ensure our field production can begin at an efficient point. Provide accurate timelines to the customer to manage expectations for submittals, lead time, and field production.
- Direct subcontractors, installers and system technicians.
- Schedule team to work on projects, providing project scope and all necessary plans, documentation, and resources. Routinely visit the jobsite to monitor progress and performance from implementation to completion, providing direction as needed.
- Proactively evaluate potential problems on each project and initiate action to limit negative outcomes. Use negotiation skills to typically resolve disputes without the need for elevation. Properly coordinate and assign technical resources for problem resolution.
- Generate estimates and directly negotiate change orders under $10,000 with the customer for equitable adjustments to contracts.
- Perform due diligence in verifying that all documents, drawings, and other important communications are accurate and delivered to the correct recipients.
- Throughout the project lifecycle, maintain full documentation in the project management file including correspondence, requests for information, plans, etc. Complete all steps in the project closeout process.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENT
- Preference for 3+ years of construction management or other relevant industry experience
- Exhibits track record of strong project management skills
- Extensive knowledge and experience with HVAC, building automation, and controls, including the engineering process of controls and electrical systems.
- Ability to the manage competing priorities of multiple projects and tasks daily, including supervision of team members.
- Success in completing complex projects on time, within budget, with a high level of quality while maintaining the goodwill of all stakeholders.
- Ability to lift, push, or move up to 50 pounds without assistance, as well as the ability to climb, kneel, squat, or work at high altitudes or in confined spaces in order to deliver the scope of work.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, verbally and in writing, with a variety of stakeholders and contexts, including conflict resolution.
- Dedication to customer service and quality production.
- Extensive capabilities in computer-based programs such as Microsoft Office, online project management tools, and ALC Web Control.
- Possess a clean driving records, be free of any felony convictions, and be able to pass federal background checks as required to work on secure government facilities.
EDUCATION
- · High school diploma or GED Equivalent.
· Journeymen’s license or an Associates Degree in Construction Management.
Starting pay will be based on experience.
