Job Summary:
The HVAC Install/Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our service and installation department. This role involves managing a team of service technicians and installation technicians, ensuring that all work meets our quality standards, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management:
- Recruit, train, and manage HVAC service and installation technicians.
- Schedule and assign work to ensure efficient use of resources.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and implement training programs to enhance team skills.
- Service and Installation Oversight:
- Ensure all installations and repairs are completed to company standards and within budget.
- Monitor job progress, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely completion of projects.
- Supervise compliance with safety standards, codes, and regulations.
- Customer Relations:
- Act as a point of contact for customer issues, ensuring resolution and satisfaction.
- Manage customer expectations regarding service times, costs, and quality.
- Administrative Duties:
- Prepare and review reports on department performance, including productivity, quality, and customer feedback.
- Manage inventory of parts and supplies, ensuring availability for jobs.
- Coordinate with other departments for seamless workflow and project execution.
- Quality Control:
- Implement and maintain quality control processes to prevent service issues.
- Conduct inspections on completed jobs to ensure work quality.
- Financial Management:
- Work within budget constraints to manage departmental expenses.
- Assist in pricing and quoting services for new installations or complex repairs.
Qualifications:
- Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; a degree in business management or a related field is preferred.
- Experience:
- At least 4 years of experience in HVAC installation or service, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Proven track record of managing teams and projects successfully.
- Certifications:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
- EPA Certification for handling refrigerants.
- NATE certification or equivalent preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Proficient in using HVAC service management software.
- Problem-solving capabilities with a focus on efficiency and customer service.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing, bending, and crawling.
- Must be able to work in various environmental conditions (hot, cold, noisy).
