Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead our government contracting efforts in piping, construction, boilers and HVAC systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in piping and HVAC systems, coupled with expertise in government contracting processes, including proficiency with SAM.gov. Experience working with other SDVOB, 8 (A) and hubzone entities will be a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the entire lifecycle of government contracts, from bid preparation to project completion
- Navigate the SAM.gov system proficiently, including registration, searching for opportunities, and submitting bids
- Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets for complex piping and HVAC projects
- Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure technical specifications meet government requirements
- Oversee the installation and maintenance of various piping systems, including:
- Process Piping
- Plumbing Piping
- HVAC Piping
- Utility Piping
- Prefabricated Piping
- High and Low Pressure Steam
- Condensate Piping
- Chilled Water
- Heating Hot Water
- High Temperature Hot Water Systems
- Manage projects involving:
- Computer Room Space Conditioning
- Building HVAC Solutions
- Boilers
- Chillers
- Pumps
- Natural Gas Systems
- Steam Systems (High & Low Pressure)
- Ensure compliance with all relevant government regulations and contract terms
- Manage project teams, subcontractors, and vendors
- Conduct regular project status meetings and provide updates to stakeholders
- Implement and maintain quality control and safety standards
- Analyze project performance and implement improvements for future contracts
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in project management, preferably in government contracting
- Proven experience with the SAM.gov system and government bidding processes
- Prior expertise working with Government Agencies on their Government contracts that you won through the bidding process
- Strong technical knowledge of piping systems and HVAC solutions
- Familiarity with government regulations related to construction and engineering projects
- PMP certification preferred
- Experience with project management software and building information modeling (BIM)
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to read and interpret complex technical specifications and contract documents

- Experience with design-build project delivery methods
- Familiarity with LEED certification processes
- Understanding of cybersecurity requirements for government projects
