Founded in 2002, Detekt designs, develops, and manufactures rapid testing instruments that are used in a variety of areas including Food & Beverage safety, Water Quality, Medical Research, Animal Health, and Environmental monitoring.
Detekt Biomedical is seeking a motivated and energetic sales and marketing individual to take the lead on developing and expanding new sales and business opportunities for an established rapid diagnostic testing instrument that is currently sold worldwide.
The role is best suited for an individual with strong self-motivation and creativity in researching and finding niche opportunities within a large potential market. Strong communication and networking skills and a willingness to quickly learn about new industries and driving forces behind upcoming testing regulations and market needs.
Experience with consumer and/or professional biotech, medical, or at-home diagnostic products is desired, but not required.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of sales experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience generating leads and creating an efficient sales funnel on a small, self-led team.
- Familiarity conducting market research, assessing competitors, and leveraging industry-specific factors.
- Ability to create compelling presentations in PowerPoint to support strategy and business development initiatives.
- Experience with software or hardware instrumentation products is a plus.
- Strong project management and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks based on marketing goals and deadlines.
- Excellent sales, administrative, written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Excel and Word.
- Ability to work in small group environments and possess high level of self-accountability.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough market research and competitor analysis to identify key players and market opportunities.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy to ensure competitive positioning and growth.
- Schedule, attend, or exhibit at key conferences and events to foster relationships and identify business opportunities (travel up to 25%)
- Generate and manage a pipeline of prospective clients, making daily calls and emails to engage new leads.
- Proficient knowledge of our products and services to ensure client orders meet all specifications.
- Use a consultative sales approach to deliver tailored business solutions in the rapid testing industry.
- Manage and use company CRM efficiently to prioritize prospects and turn leads into customers.
- Use Google AdWords, LinkedIn Marketing, and other tools to manage advertising campaigns across different platforms.
- Monitor and report on marketing metrics such as ROI, lead generation, and website traffic.
