We are looking for:
- experience as an HVAC technician
- experience in a highly-complex, multi-facility maintenance role
- journeyman certifications / contractor's licenses in AC, electrical, security / fire systems, or other vocational trades
What is the work?
Maintenance:
- Maintains / repairs large HVAC units
- Installs / replaces large HVAC units
- Repairs large AC units
- Operates / maintains / repairs chiller and boilers, including water treatment
- Performs / assists with preventive maintenance inspections
- Maintains CRAC units; collaborates with vendors to repair / replace
- Ensures walk-in coolers and freezers are monitored (BMS)
Management / Leadership:
- Oversees administration / performance of preventative maintenance, contracts, outside vendors, and team Partners
- Opens / closes repair and maintenance work orders using work order management system
- Supports Supervisor in controlling expenses reported on FM's administrative cost budgets and fixed company assets
- Submits / obtains approval for / ensures cost control within budgeted levels for FM administrative expenses
- May lead / direct / monitor junior-level FM Technicians, contractors, etc., with projects, chronic issues, warranty issues, new construction, or contracts; provides technical assistance and leadership to junior Techs; assigns / checks their work
What is your background?
- Associate's degree in a technical field, or comparable experience
- 5+ years of experience as an HVAC technician
- 2+ years of experience in a highly-complex, multi-facility maintenance role
- Experience maintaining refrigeration units and plumbing systems
- EPA Section 608 Technician Universal certification
- Journeyman certifications / contractor's licenses in AC, electrical, security / fire systems, or other vocational trades
- Completion of hazardous materials handling certification, once hired
- Valid driver's license; good driving record
Do you have what it takes to be a fit as an HVAC Foreman at H-E-B?
- Advanced working knowledge of all HVAC systems, related safety guidelines, codes, and electrical / mechanical testing devices
- Working knowledge related to interpreting blueprints and evaluating code compliance related to electrical installations and HVAC maintenance, building / construction methods, and plumbing systems
- Knowledge of OSHA / building codes that affect workplace health and safety
- Strong written / verbal communication skills; strong reading and math skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills; attention to detail
- Leadership skills
- Ability to read / interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, specifications, codes, and electrical formulas
- Ability to foster / demonstrate safe work practices
- Ability to adapt procedures, techniques, tools, and materials to meet special troubleshooting / repair needs
- Ability to take initiative and work autonomously while directing work of others

- Travel by car or plane with overnight stays
- Lift 50 lbs
- Work in extreme temperatures, ranging from -20 to 130 degrees, and in potentially hazardous conditions / noise
- Work while standing, sitting, stooping, bending, reaching, with hands over head, in a prone position, from a ladder
- Occasionally work night shifts
- Work rotating on-call shifts

Pay: $58,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
