About the Position:
Robert Madden Industries, a leading HVAC equipment and supplies distributor, is seeking a motivated engineering sales professional to join the outside sales team in our North Austin location. The Engineering Sales person will be responsible for getting HVAC equipment selections on engineered plans; cultivating long-term relationships with design engineers and key decision makers; delivering professional equipment/technical presentations; soliciting new customers/engineers to increase demand for products by getting Basis of Design on plans; carrying out sales objectives by being the equipment experts in the market; working closely with commercial sales team members to identify, target and call on key players in the market; maintaining sales reports and forecasts.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Maintains and leverages excellent relationships with engineers and owners in order to get systems and products specified.
- Develops relationships with new and existing engineers.
- Communicates openly and effectively with all inside sales, service, and support departments in order to maximize efficient account service.
- Coordinates territory Plan of Action with Sales Manager.
- Communicates openly with manufacturers regarding engineer/customer needs.
- Any other duties, as required.

Qualifications, Attributes, Education, and Experience:

- Strong equipment/technical HVAC understanding.

- Ability to give presentations in front of various groups. Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of computer programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Mechanical Engineering Degree (or similar degree based around a thermofluids understanding)
- HVAC knowledge is preferred but not required.
- Valid Texas Driver's License required with the ability to travel regularly (minimal nights away from home except for training and conferences)
Computer Skills:
- Excellent computer skills, including high proficiency in using MS Office with emphasis on Excel and Powerpoint.
