Position: Construction Operations Manager

EMCS, Inc. is a leading building technology contractor specializing in the integration of advanced systems that optimize building performance. Our comprehensive range of products includes HVAC Controls, Power Metering, and other essential technologies designed to make buildings work smarter and more efficiently.
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager to lead our project management and engineering teams. This key role is responsible for overseeing the execution of all operational aspects of our projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. The Operations Manager will play a critical role in driving the efficiency and effectiveness of our project teams, reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management: Lead and manage a team of three to four Field Project Managers and the Engineering Department, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Project Oversight: Oversee the execution of all projects, ensuring they meet company standards for quality, safety, and client satisfaction. Monitor project progress, address issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Operational Efficiency: Continuously improve operational processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness across all projects. Develop and implement best practices, standard operating procedures, and performance metrics.
- Resource Allocation: Allocate resources effectively to ensure that project teams are well-supported and capable of meeting their objectives. Collaborate with the COO to plan and manage departmental budgets.
- Client Relations: Maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations are exceeded. Act as an escalation point for resolving client concerns.
- Team Development: Mentor and develop project managers and engineers, providing guidance and support to help them grow in their roles and advance their careers within the company.
- Strategic Planning: Contribute to the strategic planning and decision-making process, working closely with the COO to align operations with the company’s overall goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience: A bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, business administration, or a related field is preferred. Significant experience in operations management within the building technology, construction, or HVAC industry is required.
- Operations Management Experience: A minimum of 5 years in an Operations Manager or Director of Operations role is required.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage diverse teams, with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of HVAC systems, building automation, and energy management systems. Experience with project management software and tools is essential.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure and address operational challenges effectively.
- Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, team members, and senior leadership.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and align operations with broader company goals. Experience in process improvement and operational efficiency is a plus.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
