JOB SUMMARY:
The HVAC Technician will oversee, plan, implement, evaluate, and carry out the maintenance, installation, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment.
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Organize and oversee work and maintenance of HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
- Inspect the condition of existing HVAC and refrigeration equipment; repair or modify as needed.
- Plans and performs required maintenance, or modifications to HVAC or refrigeration equipment.
- Analyze work orders to identify and prioritize needed repairs, maintenance; evaluates systems to identify causes of problems.
- Determines parts, materials, and other related supplies necessary for repairs, maintenance, or modifications; orders or otherwise obtains needed supplies.
- Provides direction and assistance in the diagnosis and reporting of mechanical and refrigeration systems.
- Coordinates work among other trades, departments, project managers, or outside contractors
- Monitors all work performed and assists as needed to complete complicated jobs, reviews methods and procedures.
- Ensures that installations and repairs are performed and completed in accordance with all federal, state, and local codes.
- Assists with negotiations with outside vendors and obtains cost estimates for repairs, replacements, and installation of mechanical HVAC and refrigeration equipment; oversees and evaluates work performance.
- Collaborates with appropriate staff to project cost of future repairs and equipment needs to assist with budget process.
- Maintains records of preventive maintenance performed on all major mechanical equipment.
- Follow safety protocols when working with hazardous materials.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
- Test and adjust components of HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
- Performs other related duties assigned.
EDUCATIONS and/or EXPERIENCE:
Minimum associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; one-year related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. EPA Universal and HVAC Certification strongly preferred. Must have a valid driver's license.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a license from the Missouri Gaming Commission.
