Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead our tire collection, processing, and manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing overall direction and leadership to our site team, focusing on increasing productivity, profitability, and operational excellence.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage site operations in a safe, environmentally compliant, and effective manner, covering areas such as tire collection, grading, processing, maintenance, inventory, logistics, and sales.
- Ensure the implementation of comprehensive safety plans that align with federal laws and company policies.
- Foster a culture that maximizes employee performance and leads by example, actively engaging on the production floor to achieve results.
- Manage workforce development, ensuring appropriate staffing levels, team development, and resource allocation to meet safety, financial, and operational goals.
- Drive financial success by reducing production costs and increasing productivity through strategic use of metrics for continuous improvement.
- Lead initiatives for ongoing improvement in safety, quality, finance, productivity, inventory, and logistics.
- Oversee daily implementation of standardized work practices, including SOPs and housekeeping checklists.
- Ensure timely completion of fire and safety checks.
- Implement and maintain effective preventative maintenance programs to ensure equipment meets quality and productivity standards.
- Maintain company standards in building, facility, and grounds management.
- Support the Regional Vice-President in sales, partnerships, and customer relations/retention activities.
- Communicate proactively with leadership regarding site performance, potential impacts on budgets, and operational priorities.
- Share key developments, lessons learned, and challenges with colleagues to promote best practices.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Proven track record of building high-performing teams in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with frontline associates.
- Strong business acumen, attention to detail, and a history of driving change and delivering outstanding safety and business results.
- Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, including safety, production, quality, financials, continuous improvement, team building, employee relations, customer service, purchasing, and distribution.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or a related field, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
- Minimum of five years of experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment, with responsibilities in safety, production, quality, financials, employee development, and inventory management
